Entrants can run, jog or walk a 5.6km fun run, or 10km quarter marathon. The race starts in Marina Park, with both courses following a scenic trip around the town centre before crossing the finish line back in Marina Park.
This year’s quarter marathon will be held on Sunday 17 September 2023. Race briefing is at 9.15am and the race starts at 9.30am. There will be on the day registrations from 8am (cash only).
Race packs will be available for collection from Thursday 14 September from our office, Level One, 74 Grey Street.
Participants of all ages and abilities compete in the event, from elite athletes and running clubs to mums pushing buggies and 80 year olds!
Adults $20
Secondary Student (13-18 yrs) $5
Primary/Intermediate Student (5-13 yrs) $3

Group (minimum of 10 Adults) $150. Additional entries can be made to groups including secondary, primary or intermediate participants, but to receive the Group entry price the minimum of 10 adults must be met.
The Quarter Marathon is a partnership event run by Sport Gisborne, The Hits and the Gisborne Herald. Proceeds from the event go to a local charity.
This year the charity we are supporting is Gisborne/Tairāwhiti Alzheimer’s Society.
